THIS WORLD NOT REALLY OUR HOME AS CHRISTIANS

As I walked down the field of the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord (CATOL), on a Saturday afternoon my eyes gazed on the grave yards of six Church triumphant who has been laid to rest, the second grave got me down in thoughts, sad in spirit, and was almost shedding tears as I saw the grave yard of a mother and a daughter who both died on the same day in the ghastly DANA air crash of June 3rd 2012, what a world was the thought, the woman had probably left her husband and other kids, to go, come back and meet them, only for her not to return to them anymore until the resurrection morning, No wonder the hymn writer sang in his words: This world is not my home, I’m just passing through, as I walked by I noticed different write ups beautifully written in their memories, and I said to myself, someday this will be your turn, as a child I used to be so much afraid of death, but not anymore after encountering the words of Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:21; For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain, and this should be the mind set of every true believer, the thing is not the pain of dying, but dying in Christ, a death just like when you see it coming, you can boastfully say, I have fought the good fight of faith, I have kept the faith and I have won the race.

We should live our lives as Christian with the mindset that we are sojourners on a journey in this world and live every bit of it with caution, and as if it was the last. What is the boast all about, why the quarrels, why the fight, why the envy, why the wars, why the hate? When we are certain that, it doesn’t end here. Like Apostle Paul Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than your selves. The truth is death is inevitable, but living a righteous and holy life gives you an assurance of eternity. Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed for a man once to die, and after that is judgment, the judgment of those dead have already taken place, their fate were decided while they were still breathing and when they breathed their last, so is our until the call comes.

Healthy Weeknight Meals

Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
